A Little About Myself…
I am a pastor’s daughter, and my total life’s experience has revolved around servanthood. I am a wife, mom, real estate agent, and an advocate for many. Serving people is what I do; it’s who I am, and it’s what I love.
Leadership Qualities:
I started and ran DyeVerCity Salon for 10 years. Its success greatly was due to a leadership model that I adopted and continue to use today as a real estate agent: Listening; Feedback; and Strategizing. I actively listen to my clients. I provide thorough feedback to facilitate informed decision making, and I strategize how best to deliver client desires. For me, it's all about communication, information, sound decisions, hard work, and always about honesty and integrity! What a winning combination!
Community and Small Business Advocate:
I have sponsored numerous events that centered around business growth/development, relationship building, self-awareness, and health and fitness. Additionally, I have worked with many area nonprofits and businesses, including Augusta Partnership under Dr. McKenzie, Hope House, Amerigroup, and Columbia County Community Connections.
In the past year, I have been honored to be a part of Augusta’s Agenda, appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals by Commissioner Francine Scott, Augusta Arts Council, Augusta African American Historic Society, and the Agent Advisory Council for eXp Realty, a brokerage of 72,000 agents globally. Some of these connections will strengthen networking potentials in our District, connecting needs with resources.
District 2 Voices:
I join with others who are concerned about the negative impact that blight is having on our property values. Years of hard work and sacrifice to purchase homes and make capital improvements should not be met with dwindling equity. I also hear the pleas for a reliable transit system. People need to know that they can be on time to work and have other transportation needs provided. The lack of viable transportation also heightens the problem of the many food markets that have left our communities. Food is an essential good and must be accessible by all.
But let me share other voices that I am hearing in District 2. We have some brilliant business minds and many phenomenal small businesses, many of which I have patronized. We also have some amazingly talented young people. I have listened intently to their voices and have heard their dreams… dreams that are stifled only because of a lack of resources, or, at times, simply not knowing how to access that which is available, that which would enable them to soar and realize their potential.
When you elect me as District 2 Commissioner,
I promise to hear your voice and to amplify it where it counts. I promise to provide you with crucial information so that you can make the best decisions for you and your loved ones. I promise to strategize with you and for you and to fight for your causes. I promise to go after those infrastructure changes that are needed for today and that also will support our dreams and visions of tomorrow. Together, I just know that we can forge a better Augusta! Surely, together, we can!
